Dear Colleagues,
Findings from our self-assessment discussion.
1. The Board believes it effectively pursued its mission in 2024.
2. The Board currently has the right set of skills and profiles for its needs.
3. The workload on the Board was too high but we are optimistic that changes in staffing and systems will ameliorate that.
4. Board meetings are effective. We need to aim for 90-minute duration (!).
5. Board deliberation is inclusive and constructive.
6. The Board adequately sets policy and provides guidance to staff.
7. The Board can improve the communication of our work to key stakeholders and the community, especially now that we are no longer in the 2024 transition.
Overall, the Board is looking forward to continuing with the harmony and productivity we achieved in 2024.
